Project scope

the 1) The construction of a new two storey extension (with part single storey) of approx. 3155sqm to the back (south east) side of the existing school building consisting of 11no. new mainstream classrooms, music room, DCG room, textiles room, construction studies room, construction studies prep room, SET room, GP hall, 2no. classroom base SEN suite, administration spaces, staff room, student toilets, staff toilets, accessible toilet, locker spaces, lift and associated ancillary spaces. The extension will be connected to the existing school building via a new single storey link corridor. 2) External site works consist of a new vehicle entrance to the site from the east off the Raharney Road, new landscaping works, 30no. new car parking spaces including 2no. accessible spaces and EV charging provision, approx. 40no. bicycle parking spaces, bus set-down area, external soft play areas and drainage works including foul water pumping station, attenuation tank & SuDS measures, site works will include for new ESB substation, Gas tank enclosure and PV panels on roof of extension 3) Works to existing school building include reconfiguring 3 no mainstream classrooms to provide a science classroom and science prep room and the construction of new stair and lift. 4) Demolition and removal of approx. 330sqm of existing prefab classrooms. 5) The application also includes a Stage 2: Natura Impact Assessment
