The development will consist of reinstatement of the existing quarry at Ballynamona, by importing 223,000 tonnes of soil and stone over a 14-year period, with the final profiling and landscaping completed in the following year. The annual soil and stone intake will comprise approximately 128,000 tonnes of non-waste materials notified as a by-product under the Article 27 By Product Regulation and approximately 95,000 tonnes of inert soil and stone classified as waste. The proposed development also allows for the provision of an additional wheel-wash (39 sq.m), two weighbridges (each 94 sq.m), site/weighbridge office and welfare facilities (50sq.m), a quarantine area (45 sq.m) and a proprietary sanitary wastewater treatment system. All associated works within an overall application area of 23.8 ha.
