Project scope

Construct new three storey extension consisting of a new lift shaft and lobbies, a new stairwell, ancillary accommodation and associated siteworks serving part of existing ground floor medical ward, the first floor Endoscopy Unit and the second floor Maternity Unit. The new three storey extension will also consist of a part ground floor single storey extension, consisting of a new staff room & lobby off the adjacent medical ward and lobby area, a two storey extension above part of the existing ground floor consisting of a new first floor, office, new endoscopy plant room and ancillary accommodation plus a new second floor switch room, sanitary accommodation and ancillary accommodation together with all related siteworks for the proposed development, all being located to the west of the main hospital entrance on Dublin Road and adjacent to the Block Road boundary and service yard at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise is listed as a Protected Structure RPS 180 & 950 in the current Laois County Development Plan 2021-2027.
