Project scope

works to a Protected Structure, comprising the installation of new timber sash windows and doors to match the period character of the building; lime-rendered and pebble-dashed façade; construction of a new cut roof with reclaimed natural slate to match existing; painted timber fascia and soffit; half-round cast iron gutters and downpipes; renovation and refurbishment of the existing structure; and all associated works. The works will be carried out using traditional materials and detailing appropriate to the character of the Protected Structure and in compliance with current Building Regulations. This application follows a determination under Section 57 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), which concluded that the proposed works would materially affect the character of the Protected Structure and therefore require planning permission. The dwelling is included on the Record of Protected Structures (RPS) for County Kildare under RPS Ref. No. B22-21 (No. 19 Fairview Cottages, Kildare, Co. Kildare).
