To improve the BER rating of the house from its current rating of E2, I propose to fully wrap the house with 100mm EPS external wall insulation. The vertical tiles will be removed to facilitate the installation of the EWI. The finish will be a smooth render finish in a colour that complements the surrounding houses. The works will not alter the height, footprint, roofline or architectural proportions of the house. Window and door openings will retain their current proportions. I will also replace some of the windows and doors (as noted on attached drawings) and have changed the boiler to a condensing boiler in an effort to improve the overall efficiency of the house and to comply with Part L of the Building Regulations. The attic insulation will also be improved. Associated ventilation works will also be completed. The upgrade is intended to reduce the energy consumption of the house and help Ireland reduce it's carbon footprint and met the targets set by the EU by 2030.
