The application seeks permission for the construction of an additional c. 554 sqm of floor space, comprising a one-storey extension over the existing Emergency Department to accommodate a new Laboratory Department. The development will also include a two-storey glazed stairwell on the northern elevation to provide a fire escape route, together with an elevated walkway on the upper ground floor level and lift on the eastern elevation serving all levels. All associated site development and services works are also proposed.
