Project scope

Permission for the following Large-Scale Residential Development (LRD) at Castletreasure, Douglas, Cork comprising the construction of 300 no. residential units to include 210 no. dwelling houses (comprising a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bed, detached, semi-detached and townhouse/terraced units) and 90 no. apartment units (comprising a mix of 1 and 2 bed units in 2 no. blocks ranging in height from 2 to 6 storeys), 1 no. creche and all associated ancillary development including vehicular, pedestrian and cycle access, car and bicycle parking, bin and bike stores, drainage,landscaping, public lighting, plant and equipment (including 4 no. sub-stations) boundary treatments and amenity areas. The proposed LRD makes provision for: a pedestrian bridge crossing to connect to Ballybrack Valley pedestrian and cycling route; a pedestrian connection to the Bayly residential development to the north; vehicular and pedestrian connectivity to the adjoining lands to the south and to the Carleton residential development to the east. The proposed LRD also includes improvements to the local road and footpath network on Donnybrook Hill. An Environmental Impact Assessment Report and Natura Impact Statement has been submitted to the planning authority with the application. The Environmental Impact Assessment Report and Natura Impact Statement will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during office hours at the offices of the Planning Authority.
