Project scope

Permission for modifications to the existing Community Food Services Building and all site development works at the James O’Keeffe Memorial Institute, Demesne (Townland), Newmarket, Co. Cork. The proposed works comprise of the construction of 1 and 2 storey extensions and new basement level to the building consisting of: 1) a Rural Development, Education and Training centre; 2) new front lobby; 3) new food storage and food production areas, staff facilities, storage and offices; and 4) extension to the existing restaurant and WC’s. The proposed development works include a revised car park area, the provision of a new internal access road, the relocation of an underground gas tank, bicycle parking, landscaping, drainage and plant areas. The works will be carried out within the curtilage of Newmarket House which is included on the Record of Protected Structures (where it is referred to as ‘James O'Keeffe Memorial Institute (Newmarket House)’, RPS No. 00162).
