Project scope

Permission for retention for modifications to the former St. Joseph's Convent at St. Joseph’s Convent, College Road, Fermoy, Co. Cork. The modifications to the convent building consist of: (1) internal alterations to ground, first and second floors including changes to internal layout to provide additional bedrooms, corridors, lobby space, water closets and shower rooms, staff facilities, storage and the removal of stairs; (2) minor changes to the east elevation to provide a new air duct, and (3) all ancillary development works. The proposed alterations have resulted in a net increase of 3 no. bedrooms. Retention is also sought for the change of use from convent to use as accommodation for protected persons. The proposed development consists of the carrying out of works to a protected structure.
